My background ...

Prior to becoming a freelance researcher, I was a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Industrial Relations Research and Training (acirrt) at the University of Sydney. I worked there from 1994 to 2006. During that time I worked on a range of commissioned reports, including studies of migrant unemployment, non-standard employment, and low wage workers. I also undertook a number of large scale surveys of industrial relations coverage and earnings for three State governments (Victoria, NSW and Queensland).

I was one of the authors of acirrt's two books Australia at Work and Fragmented Futures. Over the years, my main schoarly research interests have been in the areas of wage inequality, casual employment and unemployment. You can find a full list of my publications and reports here. Those available for downloading are marked as such.

I have also written several computer programs for the Stata statistical package. They are available here.
